And we're still so young;
Desperate for attention.

Glaciers Melting in the Dead of Night

Hello, world! How's everyone doing? Hopefully pretty well, because most people deserve that. Mind you, I said most. There are definitely A LOT of people that I wish their ice cream would fall off their cone. Or something much worse. Oh well. I'll just keep living in my dark and violent little world. Bwaha!

Speaking of dark and violent, guess who was chosen to read "The Tell-Tale Heart" By Edgar Allen Poe at my orchestra concert? If you guessed Liam Neeson, I could only say that I wish you were right, but I am afraid you are wrong. Believe it or not, it is your one and only, the slightly legendary, and somewhat fantastic Brett Anderson. It's going to be awesome. And frightening. Because "The Tell-Tale Heart" is quite the freaky short story. So, come to the orchestra concert! It is Thursday, October 25th! Pretty please come! Don't expect a lot. Because I'm in the lowest orchestra at the high school for scheduling reasons, and I am in first chair. Don't be surprised. I'm actually quite the killer cellist! So yes. Come.

Life's looking up. My parents want to take the family to Yellowstone over Fall Break. I feel bad for resisting so much, but I really don't want to go. REALLY. I went to Yellowstone about two years ago, so I'm good for about the next ten or so. I have many reasons for my feelings about going to Yellowstone, but it's kinda hard to explain when your parents refuse to listen, y'know? Oh well. I hope I'll be able to convince them soon. Plus, if I don't go, then my cousin will get to go with my family to Yellowstone, which I am sure she would enjoy! Because I know I won't that much, but she will, so why not her?

TOMORROW'S FRIDAY. GIVE A GOOD CHEER AND DRINK A FEW BEERS.

Do it.

But the beer part is optional.

I wrote TONS of poems today, but, to spare you the pain, I'll only give you two. The first one is a Rondel. And the second is a combination of two septolets. If you don't know what they are, just look them up on Wikipedia. They have very specific structure formats. But they were fun to write, so read it if you'd like to do so.

What an inescapable disease
Is this ecstasy or pain?
Are these string God's calm insane?
Feel the bullet pass with ease

We crawl for that fevering sleaze
Like mudslides in the rain
What an inescapable disease
Is this ecstasy or pain?

But our bursting nerves begin to freeze
Because each bleeding pen and stain
Finally crack and let light pour like ignorance's bane
We have not felt this before, we cough and wheeze
What an inescapable disease

Injecting sweet cyanide.
Forever running throughout my blood
My heart

Bittersweet,
Incomplete,
Poison
Familiar

Veins sting with
Venom!
Keep shrieking your song!

Chorus? Acid!
Verse? Arsenic!
Finale?
Death.

Hmm . . . Just realized both of them are slightly depressing and somewhat scarring . . . Well, I thought they were pretty cool. Give me your feedback, please! I would love it muchly.

Music is such a drug, guys. You don't even know. Maybe you do. But who knows?

Well, I suppose I'll give you hot deets (details) on my life later, even though they aren't that interesting.

Farewell, fellow infestations!

  1. Where do you keep finding all these interesting poem formats? You have quite a gift for unique, extra-ordinary poems my friend. Sometime, if you ever have a moment, I want you to write me a truly, unmeasurable happy poem. I think it would turn out very interesting coming from the boy with such a knack for dark poetry.
    Live spontaneously.
